FIRST HOME OWNERS GRANT
The $7,000 First Home Owner Grant was created to help you own your first home. It is a Federal Government initiative, but is administered and funded by the relevant State Governments.
As your broker, we are able to assist you apply for the First Home Owner Grant, by helping you complete the application form and obtain from you, the supporting documentation required.
The First Home Owner Grant application and supporting documentation is then usually sent to the lending institution, together with your home loan application. The lending institution, on approval of your loan, will then submit the application to the relevant State Government for their assessment and approval. When approved, the $7,000 First Home Owner Grant is distributed to the lending institution to become part of your home purchase settlement.
In some instances, the First Home Owner Grant of $7,000 is eligible, but the funds are not required to complete the purchase. It can be applied for separately by direct application to the Office of State Revenue. Queensland only. The $10,000 Queensland Government Building Boost Grant is available to buy or build a new home in Queensland from 1/8/2011 to 31/1/2012.
